Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA)

NACA is a national non-profit homeownership organisation. As a project manager I led projects across teams to improve mortgage, hiring, and reporting work, introducing digital tools while the organisation was changing rapidly.

What I worked on

Process improvement. I worked with colleagues and partner banks to understand and improve the steps involved in making a mortgage.

A self-service sign-up portal. I proposed and supported a portal that let clients upload required documents online, reducing the time and staff effort needed to get started.

Mortgage reporting and monitoring. I built reporting around the mortgage process, roughly 800 loans a year, so the organisation could see volume and status instead of tallying the work by hand.

A nationwide hiring overhaul. I redesigned hiring for a push across 40 locations, replacing paper-based steps with a digital process that let the organisation handle ten times the national volume.

National contact lists. I built a tool that gathered public records and produced the lists used by the nationwide campaign.

The website and its editor. As the sole website developer, I built and maintained the organisation’s website and the editing system its staff used.

Outcome

The projects replaced paper-based steps with digital processes and made large-scale work possible for staff rather than dependent on specialists.
