About
Ayllu is a Vermont-based software practice led by Blake Willmarth. I help businesses and organisations turn complicated work into dependable websites, applications, and digital workflows, drawing on nearly twenty years of software engineering experience.
Before software, I worked in economic research, analysing large datasets, publishing open-source tools at the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School, and co-authoring a published study at Colgate University. That work is where my interest in careful data analysis began.
I work from the first question through launch and ongoing care: understanding the problem, organising the information, building the interface, and supporting what I ship. That means content-driven websites, data platforms, and internal tools, with selected work live and maintained.
The name Ayllu comes from the Quechua word for “community.” Just as an ayllu is built on collaboration and shared responsibility, good technology should help teams work together, reduce unnecessary effort, and create lasting value.
